Snow White and The 7 Dwarves

Missoula Children's Theater came back to town.  Ellie was completely smitten with them the first time around, so she was anxious to go to the auditions for Snow White and The 7 Dwarfs.  The day of auditions, Haddon announced that he would like to participate as well.  (Shock!)  So, we packed up quiet-time toys for the little girls, and headed to the Jr. High where they were holding the auditions.  Over a period of 2 hours, they auditioned 145 elementary and junior high students.  I am a proud mama, but I have to admit I was a little bit surprised to see how brave they were.  Each child got to speak lines individually in front of 145 kids, the 2 directors, and about 100 parents.  I thought for sure they would get shy.  Nope.  They spoke up and did well. YAY!!! (That's my Ellie in the center of the pic, hot pink shirt, saying her lines...so, so proud!)
Staying busy and keepin' quiet at our table...
At the end of the audition, both Haddon and Ellie were cast as Woodland Creatures.  They had 4 to 8 hour practices for the next 4 days - culminating in 2 performances on Saturday.
Haddon was a skunk with attitude...
And Ellie was a Fox.  :)
The play was not the traditional story - it was full of comedy, music, and dancing which my little woodland creatures executed perfectly!  The end left you kind of wanting to root for the hilarious wicked step mother.  Such a great experience and performance.  Good job my little thespians!
Afterwards, we went for hot chocolate and apple pies at McD's...to celebrate a job well done of course!
