We celebrated Sydney's 4th birthday in style...We drove on her birthday to Baumgartner Campground in Idaho to join my parents and siblings for a family reunion. We were greeted by this in our campground right off the bat...
We were assured by the camp host that he was just a yearling, and was harmless except for the fact that he was food seeking, so not to leave food or trash out. We weren't supposed to worry otherwise...Yeah, sure! Surprisingly, we weren't too afraid of him - (In hind sight, what were we thinking!) This picture my brother shot is a little too close for comfort!
We went swimming in the hot springs pool...
We sang Happy Birthday and had yummy raspberry filled cream cheese cupcakes.
(Syd's request of course - "It MUST have raspberry fill!")
Had a family talent show complete with grandpa's storytelling...
He's very good, you know!
Some of us (definitely not me) cliff-jumped off the giant rock in the river...Go Brooke!
We ingnored hair regimens and got down to serious business...bubble blowing and catching...yeah, yeah, I know. Nice pic Andge!

And spent some serious time just hanging out enjoying family...
and trying to harm with our whittled weapons? :)
We were all more than a bit relieved/disturbed to see this the morning we left...the Momma bear that nobody believed was around, trapped in the bear trap 50 yards from our campground. We're so grateful you could stop by to celebrate Syd's birthday bash with us Mrs. Bear....YIKES. No harm, no foul, though, right? :) Happy Birthday my sweet Sydney! We love you so much!
