Haddon has enjoyed his first week of basketball. Joel went to practice with Haddon, and came home laughing and saying how grateful he was that he wasn't the volunteer coach. They had just gotten there, when in walked pro-basketball player Shawn Bradley with his son. He's on Haddon's team. I can only imagine how intimidating that would be - 'Hey, I'm just a regular Joe blow teaching a pro-basketball players' son'... Um, yeah. :)
At any rate, they had their first game Saturday morning. It definitely was their first week... :) Most of the kids are at the same level - very beginner. But this one kid on the other team was a mini Michael Jordan. They hardly had a chance to touch the ball. Joel came away saying he couldn't wait to get in some practice time with Haddon. He now knows what skills he needs to work on with Haddon. It will be so cute to see them bond over basketball. I look forward to seeing the improvement as the weeks go by!
