Ellie's Baptism

This little beauty of mine was SOOO excited for her big day.  A few weeks before the big day, she was asked to give a talk in primary.  When we sat down to write her talk, she told me she wanted to talk about baptism and why she had chosen to get baptized.  It was one of those proud moments where you just admire the little person you have the privilege to have an inter-twined life with. :) She ended up giving a sweet talk and bearing her testimony about the Holy Ghost being her companion. *!!!*  The day of her baptism, we knew she was going into her choice with full knowledge of what she was doing.  (I'm not sure I was that confident when I got baptized!) We had a house full of family visiting for the event, and of course, I almost forgot to even bring the camera...we remembered, but were running a little bit late, so the only pics we snapped were these moments before the program began.

(Yes, Haddon is rockin' that bowtie...he STILL loves it. :) It was a beautiful program where Aunt Annie 'willingly' conducted the music and Grandma Thueson gave the prayer...we kind of forgot to let them know they were participants. ;) There were 4 kids getting baptized, and Ellie got to go first.  Our group split from the rest, and headed to the font.  As I took Ellie into the changing room, I took a moment to hug her and look her in the eyes.  We talked a minute about how this moment was so important in her life, and her smile was probably the biggest I've ever seen.  She went into the water to meet her Dad, who baptized her.  When she came out of the water, the smile was even bigger. :)   We hurried and got her dressed in her new white dress, and then her Dad confirmed her.  Both grandfathers, her uncles Chad and Dennis, and Bishop Weeks stood in on the confirmation.

Afterwards, we visited with family and friends that were able to attend - Both sets of grandparents', Chad and Melanie and kiddos, Annie and Dennis, the Lows, Thompsons, Mabey's, Muirs, Bishop and Kay Weeks, and Ellie's friend Halle with her mom Julie.  Then we all headed home for a pulled pork burrito lunch at our house.The rest of the afternoon, we forgot to snap pictures, but had fun just relaxing and enjoying time with our family.  Later that night Ellie whispered to me "Mom, I'm still clean."

Yes my sweetie.  You're clean. :) Congratulations on making such a huge step - it will bless you throughout your life!
