Ellie and Sydney's Candy Counter

The girls wanted to have a combined birthday party, but it was delayed somewhat because of crazy summer schedules and sickness - grrr. We finally had a candy-store themed party last week. The girls played games in order to win play money that could be used at the 'store'. All of the party goers were more than willing to play the carnival-style games I had set up. We knocked over tin cans, tried to toss air-filled balloons at a target, did balloon on a spoon, and had 3-legged races. We ended up with way too much time on our hands, so I brought out my trusty Dan Zanes CD and the girls boogied to the music, and then we played hide and seek. It's amazing how silly an adult can be when surrounded by 11 little girls, and no other adults are there to witness it! ;) After cupcakes and gifts, they were able to redeem their $ for tons of goodies from the candy store. All in all, it was fun. Mental note for next time - a little over one hour is sufficient time for a party!
